Sol-i is over-the-moon. It’s only taken them 18 episodes, but they finally made it. Sol-i doesn’t remember their first kiss The next scene confirms that Sol-i believes they’ve only held hands — she doesn’t remember the drunken kiss. Ha-young wants to teach her the ropes. Later on, at a restaurant, Cha Heon asks Sol-i to stay with him for the night, and she is increasingly anxious. Cha Heon changes the tone and says he wants her to stay at the library with him — it’s difficult to gauge who backed out of this situation; I’m sure Sol-i would have overcome her anxiety eventually. Later on, at the park bench, Cha Heon kisses Sol-i on the cheek, and she gets embarrassed. They are both excited to be around each other. Ha-young gets hit on a lot We learn how insecure Jin-hwan gets in A Love So Beautiful Episode 18, but it’s no surprise when he has his childhood sweetheart. In a cafe, a man hits on Ha-young and Jin-hwan gets super jealous and confronts the man. Jin-hwan learns that Ha-young gets hit on a lot and he is a little irritated and shouts around the cafe in her defense. Ha-young kisses him on the cheek to reassure him. I think this character needs to calm down a little! Jin-hwan breaks up with Ha-young Jin-hwan’s health problems persist, but the way he handles obstacles in his relationship is still immature — you get the feeling in future episodes, this will come back to bite him. At the hospital, Cha Heon visits Jin-hwan on his hospital bed and asks him when he will tell Ha-young about his latest condition. Jin-hwan asks his friend to keep it a secret. At a cafe, Jin-hwan gives Ha-young a ring and asks her if they can break up because they are getting sick of each other. Ha-young is understandably upset, but Jin-hwan walks off. He’s obviously lying so he doesn’t put her through his health condition. In the next scene, Sol-i and Cha Heon visit him as he prepares for surgery. The ending Ha-young turns up, and Jin-hwan is shocked. She knew what he was going through. She tells him it’s okay as long as he survives and that she will wait until after surgery. Jin-hwan wells up. The scene then flits to June 2014, and Ha-young is sitting on Jin-hwan’s old hospital bed. Her love and care for him are apparent. After the last episode, everything looked to be set-up for a smooth transition from giddy school kids to a mature relationship for Cha Heon and Sol-i, but it turns out, rockier roads were around the corner. At work, a couple of female acquaintances talk to Cha Heon, so Sol-i runs in and makes it known that she’s the girlfriend. Sol-i smiles at her, clearly understanding what she’s doing. Afterwards, Sol-i tells him that he’s always so busy. And then, ironically, he needs to go back to work. Sol-i seems a little fed up as she can barely see him. Sol-i is job hunting, and Cha Heon is offered a massive opportunity The episode then flits to 2016. Sol-i calls Cha Heon but she cannot get through to him. He’s too busy with his medical profession. Meanwhile, Sol-i is busy job hunting. An acquaintance offers to help her, but he’s a little too “handsy” in the conversation. Later in the day, she lands an internship interview and excitedly rings Cha Heon, but she cannot get in touch. Meanwhile, Cha Heon is offered a programme in the USA. The problems are escalating very quickly in episode 19, World’s apart Sol-i may be making progress, but she’s also caught a nasty cold. The separate life she leads from Cha Heon is also taking its toll, with plenty of missed messages and calls. When Cha Heon tries to call her later, she doesn’t answer. The next day, Sol-i tries to take on the day despite her cold. She attends her internship interview. The interviewers are harsh on her and wrap it up quickly. Later on, she helps out her acquaintance, but he tries to touch her again and she has to fight him off to get away. On her way home, she hears a few of Cha Heon’s colleagues talk about him going to America, and she’s devastated. This is the big blow in their relationship. “Let’s break up” And then the next moment will shock viewers in an unexpected twist in the story. Cha Heon meets Sol-i and asks about the job interview, but she’s still shocked by what she heard. Sol-i doesn’t accept his hand and tells him they should break up because he’s going to the USA, and wonders why he didn’t tell her. Cha Heon tells her he hasn’t decided yet. Sol-i wonders if she’s a factor in that decision and tries to walk away. But he grabs her. Before they can even talk further, Cha Heon is alerted for ER. He asks her to wait for him. When he reaches the ER, he’s dealing with a traffic accident victim and has to perform CPR. The man dies, and Cha Heon is devastated. He starts sobbing, and someone grabs him to stop. The ending He runs back from ER, but Sol-i has already gone. He looks around hopelessly. Cha Heon decides to visit Sol-i, but he learns that she has packed up and left. Their worlds have quickly fallen apart; Cha Heon got understandably complacent with the stresses of his job, while Sol-i felt like she was second fiddle to Cha Heon’s life — you can understand it from both perspectives; right person, wrong time. A month later, Cha Heon is readying himself to go to America. He rings Sol-i and tells her he’s leaving. He wants her to meet him, but she tells Cha Heon not to wait for her — this hits Cha Heon hard, but he has to accept it. Jin-hwan tells Cha Heon that Sol-i doesn’t wait around for him anymore and that she’s landed herself a gig as a webtoon artist. Cha Heon wants Jin-hwan to help him, but his friend accidentally reveals that Sol-i was sexually harassed. Later on, Jin-hwan invites Sol-i to w house warming party. The house warming party At the party, Dae-sung attends. Cha Heon turns up to the housewarming party dressed up in a high school uniform. He’s embarrassed, believing that was the theme. During the party, Cha Heon gets a call and he has to go to the hospital. Before he leaves, Dae-sung tells Cha Heon that he will take Sol-i home. Dae-sung shoots his shot part two It’s genuinely surprising that Dae-sung has clung on to hope for Sol-i for so long, knowing full well that her heart is set on Cha Heon, even with all the problems they are having. When Dae-sung drops off Sol-i, he gives her a bouquet and asks her to be his girlfriend. He asks her to think carefully as this will be her last chance. He then shows her a ring and says no-one else can get a diamond ring like this for her — such arrogance! Sol-i tells him again that she sees him as a good friend. Dae-sung accepts it again before cheekily telling her she has low standards. This is definitely a closed book on this potential romance now. Cha Heon makes a massive admission Dae-sung drowns his sorrows at a bar and gets drunk. He asks Cha Heon what kept him so busy that he couldn’t be by Sol-i’s side — he wants him to take her seriously. Cha Heon confirms that he likes Sol-i more than she likes him. He thought she’d join him when he left, but she didn’t. He confirms he has regretted the last three years and he can’t live without her. When Sol-i finishes, Dae-sung gets his phone out to confirm that Sol-i was on a call with him — she heard everything Cha Heon said. Ironically, Dae-sung sorted everything out between them — he wanted Cha Heon to prove himself. The ending At the end of the night, Cha Heon and Sol-i walk home together. He apologises to her and admits it was his fault. He asks for forgiveness. Sol-i asks Cha Heon to give her some time.
